School GSA Conference
The School GSA Conference is held each fall. Students from high school Gay Straight Alliances across the region are invited to attend. The School GSA Conference focuses on GSA capacity building, pride, activism, self-confidence, identity development, and networking through participation in high ropes courses and workshops. Students do not need to be part of an official GSA to attend.
GSA Activist Camp
The GSA Activist Camp is a youth-led 3-day event that features intensive community building, skill-building, political education, and leadership training for Gay Straight Alliance members and potential members. All LGBTQ and straight-ally youth can apply. Youth who will be in a high school or middle school GSA next year will be given priority. Youth of color, trans youth and low-income youth are especially encouraged to apply.
Youth Council
The NM GSA Network Youth Council is a diverse group of youth leaders from GSAs all over New Mexico. The Youth Council is responsible for making decisions about and guiding the programs of the NM GSA Network. Youth Council members will represent the needs of GSAs and youth activists from their area as well as set goals and establish priorities for the entire NM GSA Network.
Regional Trainings
The NM GSA Network will provide two Regional Trainings each year. These trainings will be designed and led by youth and are intended to build capacity and strengthen GSAs in the region hosting the training.
